The Race
Now on its 37th year, the Iloilo Paraw Regatta is the oldest traditional craft event in Asia, and the largest sailing event in the Philippines. The Iloilo Paraw Regatta Foundation currently organizes the activities, with leading support from the Iloilo City and Provincial Governments and the Department of Tourism, along with private sector donations. The Festival
Samba de Regatta is a celebration of Ilonggo seafaring ingenuity! It is a celebration expressed in music and dance. The Samba de Regatta Music and Mardi Gras Competition is hoped to be slowly developed into another tourism spectacle of the city. Conceived to be a special event after the take-off of the competing “Paraws” to entertain the anxious spectators, it has gained the acceptance and enjoyment of the witnessing regatta. The Pinta Tawo Competition is a body painting contest that celebrates the human skin as a perfect venue to showcase art. It is one of the special events organized by the Iloilo Paraw Regatta Foundation, Inc together with the Junior Chamber International Iloilo (JCI-Iloilo).
